Electric surges and spikes caused by lightning and electric equipment operation can damage your TV, VCR, computer, stereo equipment, phone and other appliances. With the cost associated with damage to this equipment, it makes good sense to protect your belongings. The Home Guard Defender Plus system provides multiple level protection for only $5.95 a month.

How the program works:

• Great Lakes Energy installs a service entrance unit on your electric meter. This protects your home from catastrophic high-voltage surges and spikes. Great Lakes Energy owns and maintains this meter base unit and you receive insurance protection up to $1,000 for each white appliance in your home (washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, freezer, dishwasher, HVAC unit), up to $10,000 per event.
• You also get an in-home starter kit of special plug-in surge suppressors for your more sensitive electronic equipment, plus a wall outlet tester. This equipment is yours to keep. The suppressors in this kit are backed by a LIFETIME WARRANTY and up to $25,000 repair/replacement insurance for your connected equipment.
• Your payments are conveniently added to your electric bill, $5.95 per month or $71.40 per year.

• Meterbase unit
• 8-outlet plug strip with built-in cable and phone line protection
• 1-outlet wall mount with built-in cable protection
• 1-outlet wall mount with built-in telephone jacks
• 1-outlet wall mount
• Wall outlet tester
• Hook-up cables
